Sense sensation
Sweet pea season
Treat your senses to the beauty of the sweet pea, as these unique flowers come into bloom.
Sweet Pea Season begins 24 june
From 24 June, Easton Walled Gardens comes alive with the colour and fragrance of sweet pea season. Visitors can enjoy one of the garden’s most celebrated displays as sweet peas climb obelisks and trellises throughout the Vegetable Garden and the Walled Garden. More than forty varieties are grown each year, creating a spectacular mix of colours, shapes and scents that fill the summer air.
Sweet peas have been grown at Easton for many years, and visitors can see heritage Grandifloras, dramatic modern Spencer varieties and beautifully scented semi-grandifloras all in one place. The Pickery becomes a hub of activity as the gardening team cuts flowers, collects seed and shares growing advice with visitors. Whether you are an experienced gardener looking for inspiration or simply want to enjoy one of the most fragrant highlights of the summer garden, sweet pea season offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Easton at its most colourful and aromatic.
