Our fountain pen and writing gift set brings together a classic German fountain pen, a collection of colourful British-made inks and patterned correspondence cards made in England — everything needed to rediscover the pleasure of writing by hand.
At its heart is a black Kaweco Classic Sport fountain pen, a design whose origins date back to 1911. Compact enough to carry easily, the Kaweco Sport measures approximately 10.5cm when closed and becomes a comfortable full-sized fountain pen when the cap is posted. Made in Germany, its simple octagonal design has made the Sport an enduring favourite with fountain pen users.
We’ve added a brass Kaweco clip, a converter for using bottled fountain pen ink and a set of six black ink cartridges, so its recipient can choose between the convenience of cartridges and the much more colourful possibilities of bottled ink.
And there is plenty of colour. The Tom’s Studio Jewel Mini Ink Collection contains six 5ml bottles of fountain pen ink: Raspberry Sorbet, Strawberry Jam, Iris, Marianas, Sunny Teal and Lemon Yellow. Made in the UK, the inks are water-based, acid-free, vegan and suitable for fountain pens. Each little glass bottle comes with a pipette, and the collection is presented in a box hand-painted by the Tom’s Studio team, so no two are quite identical.
To actually put pen and ink to use, the set includes Cambridge Imprint blank correspondence cards with patterned borders. Cambridge Imprint’s cards are printed in England on responsibly sourced paper using environmentally friendly inks — wonderfully useful for thank-you notes, invitations and those occasions when a handwritten note says rather more than a message on a screen.
