The workshop begins with introductions and a discussion about the workshop, the plant materials available and what each participant hopes to achieve during the day. There will be reference to books and plant materials to support learning. There will be exploration of technical areas, e.g. equipment, brushes, wash technique, paint pigments – these are designed to increase or consolidate knowledge.
With demonstration of techniques, as well as handouts and individual tuition you will practice botanical art techniques, design a composition and then apply the techniques you have practiced, to produce a lovely piece of botanical artwork.
With the group discussions, demonstrations and examples of work and plant material supplied you should leave this class with new knowledge, skills - and a beautiful autumn painting.
This is one of our most popular and relaxing workshops, places are limited to 10 so booking early is highly recommended. There will be follow on workshops for those looking to improve their botanical art skills so do keep an eye on the website for details.
